Powerful editor = effortless editing
Crescent presents a host of editing options that covers a spectrum of image editing scenarios. The editing tools in Crescent are professional grade - many of them have custom algorithms that provide better results that other comparable apps. Crescent also includes powerful color manipulation and split toning tools which are deceptively simple yet can deliver exceptional results - both in color and black and white imagery.
Your creation - front and center
Crescent was built from the ground up so that the image being edited remains the centerpiece of the experience. Everything else gets out of the way. In fact, Crescent can provide a neutral framing of the image for better understanding of its unique editing needs. In edit view the image can be zoomed in, panned and compared with the original image or any previous frame of edit to show how the editing has improved the nuances.
UI that's unobtrusive
Who wants to look at editing tools when the focus should be on the image? Crescent understands that. That's why the editing tools melt away with a single touch on the screen, and back with another. The edit view also hides the unnecessary dials when one is being used - and that dial can be dragged around so that no part of the image remain obscured.
Professional quality editing can still be easy
Professional quality image editing should not need expensive and difficult software. Crescent offers numorous editing tools - nuanced exposure adjustment, color luminance and saturation adjustments (which are great in color photos, and can produce amazing color to black & white photos!), color temperature, split toning (one of the secret weapons of professional photographers), vignetting - to name a few, in logically grouped edit frames, and all the edit frames are visible in the history view in a stack that's fun to scroll through, and shows how the image has improved step by step through editing.
Crescent remembers - so you don't need to
Once an image is edited, the edits are remembered by Crescent. If you open the image later after editing a number of other images, you will notice the edit frames just as they were left off during the previous editing session. Crescent does not store the images, just the edits. So there is no need to worry about wastage of precious hard drive space by duplicating images (but Crescent does store a copy of the current image being edited in order to load the latest edit session quickly.)
Simple. Powerful. Fun.
Crescent utilizes the amazing capabilities of iPhone along with many custom algorithms to make powerful editing tools accessible through simple, unobtrusive UI. Crescent's UI is nuanced. It expresses continuity by seamlessly moving from history view to edit view and back. It provides a fun way to flip through the edit frames, to compare between them and to share any of them. It also allows enabling/disabling any of the edit frames in the history view and all the subsequest frames are updated accordingly. Crescent makes professional quality image editing fun and simple.
